Set up and respond from mobile
The Shankh mobile app is available for iOS and Android. Every engineer in an on-call rotation should pair it and verify push before their first shift.
Connect the app
- Sign in to the Shankh web application.
- Open Mobile setup.
- Open the Shankh app on your phone.
- Scan the QR code shown in the web application.
- Sign in using your normal account.
- Allow the required notification permissions.

The QR code contains the Shankh server address and display name. It does not contain account credentials or authentication tokens.
Verify push delivery
- Confirm the app shows your workspaces and current on-call status.
- Trigger a low-severity test alert.
- Confirm the push notification arrives.
- Open the notification and confirm it loads the incident.
Respond to a push notification
- Open the push notification, or open Incidents in the app.
- Open the incident detail screen.
- Review the current severity, incident state and incident information.
- Acknowledge to take ownership and stop escalation.
- Continue the investigation from the web application when you have one available.
Check your on-call shift
- Open On-call in the app.
- Confirm whether you are currently the responder.
- Check upcoming shifts before you travel or go offline.
If push does not arrive
- The app is connected to the correct Shankh server.
- You are signed in.
- Notification permission is enabled on the device.
- The device has registered for Shankh push notifications.
- Your current product access includes mobile push.
